Ive read hundreds of books and I like Disco Elysium. There's nothing extremely avant garde or interesting about the writing but for storytelling in a video game and atmosphere its 10/10. It's like some weird, sardonic mix of Confederacy of Dunces and Pessoa's Book of Disquiet made into a cop thriller. I like that. It's not some kind artistic masterpiece that shifts public consciousness , sure, but for a video game it's really well made
