When automobiles became affordable and normal for all classes to own, almost immediately there was a sense of "freedom" tied to owning a car. I do not understand the desire for things like walkable cities and public transport. I genuinely enjoy driving and even do it as a leisurely thing sometimes, exploring and finding new things, etc. Whenever I here arguments for centralized cities it genuinely sounds dystopian. Even if you do not own a car this has to make sense, right?
