I want ENDLESS growth in my wealth.
My idea is how much do I need to put into a S&P 500 index fund so I can live of half a percent out per quarter (that is 2% a year taken out of a index fund that grown on aver age 10-12% or 7-8% after taxes.)
A comfortable amount to start with is $10,000 per month.
So $30K per quarter or 30K/0.005 = $6 million
$6 million to have a permanent comfortable income.
$3 million to buy a comfortable house, cars, etc.
$1 million in cash assets for emergencies and to cover unforeseen expenses.
$10 million... if greedy add $3 million for high growth no income stocks.
So minimum of $6 million, prefer $10 million, jackpot at $13 million
