The thing is, everyone in the industry benefits from Nintendo's pricing gambit paying off (except for us consumers)
so the idea that ZOMG EVERYONE LOVES SWITCH 2 ITS 2 MANY SALES WOOOOAAHHH is going to be pushed from all directions. If it did set any "records" it's probably just due to the overall growth of the gaming industry + online shopping making it more possible to get things on day 1. But even then I just don't buy it, the economy is spreading people thin right now and the switch 2 doesn't offer anything new, so I don't know who is getting these except for diehard fans.
