I blame myself for consuming so much fantasy RPG stuff. A lot of it is for kids, and even if it isn't the vocabulary is usually pretty standard across the genre. I played Yakuza 0 not too long ago and it was a real learning experience, especially in learning criminal slang like カタギ, デカ, ドス, チャカ, ドンパチ, etc... it was pretty helping in understanding レナード's dialogue. (Pic related says 刑事 but he reads it as デカ)

I just typed sounds that came to mind, I didn't check to see if they were actual words
