You didn't expand on this point at all with any detail, and the rest of your post doesn't have anything to do with XIII. I mostly agree with the rest of what you have to say about VIII though you completely forgot to mention the OST which is a downright sin. VIII has the best OST of all. So I'm not sure what you were trying to convince me of here, because we basically agree. VIII is absolutely better than XIII, sure. But I said I like the characters themselves across the board more in XIII, that it was the characterizations themselves that are stronger for these party members. I'm not talking about your gripes with voice acting either because that's separate and totally subjective. I said that the story pacing itself of XIII is also better than VIII, because that's my opinion. I think the pacing in VIII can be a pretty big downside at points, it's a bit too long with too little of important events, character growth or substantial information for long stretches of time. The pacing of XIII is actually pretty damn good all things considered, with the way it's focused on the individuals and the circumstances less so than it is a massive world full of cryptic shit to uncover and justify the existence of a strategy guides. To each his own there.
