I've always said the same thing, I even looked it up and it turns out that Gantz started its publication three years after FF VII release, so it's entirely possible that Tifa may have inspired Reika's design. The issue with that theory is that the OG's cutscenes looked like this in the best of cases rather than we're used to from posterior editions and updates.
