Once, because recruiting was a disaster at a former company of mine, I was asked to take over despite not being a recruiter by trade.
>I threw out the interview system they were using because it was irrelevant to the jobs we hired for
>Met with the endpoint managers for each role to build a hiring profile for their program
>Actively sourced from the local area rather than just sitting waiting for indeed applications
>Face to face interviews only, refused to interview potential rehires and serial quitters, never refused someone over resume or irrelevant 'qualifications' alone.
I had a blast, my team was happy, and I created the best recruiting pipeline the place had seen in years.
>Throughput, manager satisfaction through the rough and attrition down significantly
Just after COVID I was asked to move to a different, more prestigious role with better pay so I did...but I asked everyone to swear they wouldn't just let my department get turned back into the same shithole it was before.
Didn't even take 6 months for the new blood to burn it all to the ground. In a year it was the same assembly of overpaid do-nothings as every other TA depatment.
We don't hate HR enough.
