In the end I see it that Radahn serves as an extension of Miquella's role as a Marika parallel. In my view, the biggest failing is how he references and calls back to a trailer that isn't in the game and has to be seen on Youtube. The pieces leading up to him were there but did not come together properly for it to land as effectively.

With that being said I personally like him more after the DLC. But to be clear, I just thought he was a stupid ugly ogre in the base game.
