Good point. Though I suppose if they were to bring him back as he was. I wonder if there would be drama because of it? Maybe writers aren't in any mood to deal with stuff like that. Being accused of writing a "stereotypical villianous gay" character? Then again he was well liked to begin with because of his personality and dynamic with the other antagonists. So softening him up is their means of over-correction.

It was novel to see that since most of the time no matter the iteration. Starscream was more or less seen as a nuiscance that every other Decepticon had to tolerate. No one really conspiring with him intentionally.
