Read. You can pirate books written by critics and film theorists - Ebert's "Great Films" book is very surface level and some of his opinions are cringe-inducing, but it's a good introduction because of its format of short, descriptive, informative essays. A very important thing you should understand early on is that you don't have to agree with critics or reviewers, and that writings with opinions contrarian to yours can still be very interesting and insightful. Another excellent option is IMDB's "critic reviews" function that leads to collections of external essays by professional critics, quick reviews from decades old gazettes, articles by film enthusiasts. It's a treasure trove.
