honestly i wish there was a broader term than 'Holocaust', which specifically refers to the systematic extermination of Jews. yep, horrible, important to Jews, important to everyone, got it.
but if they 'only' did that other 5 million, we'd still be livid about it.
so even in summary, 'the Nazi extermination programme' or 'the concentration camps' or something. everyone says 'the Holocaust'. THEY'RE the ones underplaying it (which is ironic, really).
