I tried posting on various Discords and subreddits, I really did, and sometimes I'd have pleasant conversations, but as the months wore on the need to constantly maintain this overly polite facade and not being able to joke around like you used to be able to on the internet everywhere eats away at me. It's such a fake way of socializing. I cannot stand talking with all these people with fifty billion paid icons and effects around their username with their chosen gender pronouns that you constantly need to walk on eggshells with or else they have a mental breakdown.
