tl;dr wife is the one working and winning bread. This is his first time confronting her on the problem; he sent her the spreadsheet as she was leaving for business, then ghosted her when she tried to talk to him about it.

Yes, only twice a month is pretty bad. But if she's the breadwinner, it's more understandable. Also, refusing to talk it out with her and waiting until your emotions have boiled over to crash out on her and ghost her as your first time broaching the subject is shitty.
Neither of these people are good at communicating.
