I mean yeah? Supports can really change a game's synergy and feel if they're making bad plays or just suck.
The problem is that its one of the most fundementally overpowered roles in the game currently, but its also played by an excruciatingly high amount of bad and fraudulent players.
Take this for instance
If your supports are easily distracted by a psylocke, hela or Starlord and they're wasting their time trying to kill thirst then they probably fucking suck. And I really mean it because its not in any way difficult to heal each other and ping or use abilities to get dps opponents to screw off but for dive its a totally different problem.
