I think a way it maybe could have been salvaged was if the episode was a little less one sided, and maybe had the outfits actually be problematic. Like the dress with the really long skirt getting dirty and causing ponies to trip over it, or a model missing the show because she was took too long doing up all the buttons on the goth dress. It could have them acknowledge AJ was actually right about what she was saying, and they shouldn't have just completely disregarded the feedback she was giving, while still also having the moral of Applejack learning to be more tactful on giving feedback. As it stands, it just flies in the face of earlier episodes and ends with the message of never being critical of anything, because it'll hurt feelings
