That makes it even more impressive to me. Smoothest controlling NES game by far.

It definitely felt like they gave the player too much power with the cape, but my guess is that is was for broader appeal as they knew more hardcore players may opt out of using it if they wanted a challenge. (Doesnt excuse how abundant it feels, but c'est la vie)
