I finished In With the Ogres. Despite being four parts it was surprisingly long!
The second husband debuts! God his awkwardness, stutter, and easily flustered nature are precious and relatable as hell to me. Motosumi is suddenly taking care of more kids than the ogre babies he really does his best. We don't get to say it's been awhile since Yule's event. We get more confirmation of the power of belief through Setsubun. Oniwaka still looks out for us and others even if he doesn't want to fully admit it. Takemaru says we are a mix of many things but our heart is fresh/new not in a purehearted sense but like there hasn't been anything there at all. His SA can go to a CW where he used to live. He has the Rule of Binding just like Arc. He doesn't have memories before a specific day like they were cut out. His hatred/dislike for humans come from falling in love with his lady but a human took her away then humans killed his brethren and burned all his homes down. Even without his three swords he killed many humans in a viscous cycle of vengeance until he offered his head of his own accord then was summoned to Tokyo after being decapitated. Apparently Suzuka is like his lady but not actually her? I guess they aren't exact 1 to 1 with the myth they're from? Which I guess makes sense given how Takemaru offered himself unlike how he died in myth. And of course I read his SQ and it was cute seeing him gush over his interests and how in one ending he starts rambling about architecture until late at night. Which I like when people talk about their interests even though id be a hypocrite and might get uninterested after 10 minutes. The other ending ended too fast how dare you LW! But I will say even though Shuten said he heard Takemaru wish he could love again it felt like his feelings for us was like a switch went off rather than a development especially considering what happened to him in his HW and we're human. It felt like it should have took more time.
