I mean, you have to show the actor’s face to make an emotional impact on the audience. Raimi at least contrived plot-related reasons for Spidey’s mask to come off though, whether through battle damage, or when he has to take it off on the train because it catches fire from the sparks. The problem is just marvel nanotech slop where the mask just disappears.
