I agree but by "reprogrammed into not being insane anymore" I envision something like the equivalent of Spamton getting medication/therapy that actually helps him; he still has his things to work on but it's easier to do when he isn't getting his insides blasted by intrusive thoughts/forbidden eldritch knowledge 24/7
