How can I make my thematically classed sorcerer/hexblade warlock with the psychic dagger Durge (Durge is for stabbin') any tankier on tactician?

I have a rudimentary understanding of the system at best, I just want to be able to not lose a quarter of my health to a basic bitch melee attack from some mook, or getting absolutely obliterated by archers with multi-attack.
