Even going off of just ANH and NOTHING ELSE, it seems that the Emperor rose to power within the past 30 years and the Jedi went extinct.
Either that, or there were only like a handful of Jedi before the Empire came to power anyway

Im just saying, even without the Prequels its weird. Go rewatch "Return," if it werent for Obi-Wans monologue in the first film you'd assume that this evil dark wizard nigga has been ruling the galaxy for centuries.
