A modern sword would have a skeletonized titanium core with a press fit amorphous metal edge. You’d want a vibration dampening grip, which should be made of a lightweight textured polymer and wrapped in grip tape.
The scabbard could be greatly improved with magnets and electronics, allowing for locking mechanisms, faster draws, smaller footprints, and more comfortable wear.
