Gash Bell is not that "deep" but it's really sincere, to a campy degree. Both when it gets cool, when it gets serious, and when it gets stupid. Literal power of friendship and determination, but it might get a pass, because emotions are part of what makes the power levels work. Also it features lots of scenes of characters crying and such kind of sentimentality, I've seen it get old for some people. In my humble opinion it also has some really great and fun fight scenes, really strategic, and some great team ups, as the series goes along. So tldr: I don't think it's very deep it's more like, an incredibly straightforward power shonen with way above average execution for what it's trying.
