I think the general assumptions that those games were good because of other people holding back his retardation is absolutely true. The more he was left to his own devices the more he fucked up, see MGS4 and V. And now DS2. The guitar duel at the end would have been great if it was a general shitposty comedy game with a comedy story but it's the climax of a supposedly serious narrative about a world ending event. Imagine if Snake and Ocelot had a karaoke battle during their final fist fight in MGS4 lmao, that's what this is. Kojima is beyond being a hack. It's not silly or cheeky, it's just fucking corny and stupid.
