Because most species who just blindly followed natural selection (to be fair, they didn't have sapience or society to actually not do that)... are fucking extinct. The majority of species that have at some point once existed on earth... DONT anymore.
And no, in many cases their evolutionary branch literally just died out, they didn't evolve into anything else.
"evolution" is literally like it is in AI, no thought, just random mutations that get thrown at a wall and see what sticks... hint: most fucking doesn't.
And nobody cares because the few things that DO will further evolve and multiply and quickly fill the gaps of any niche and life will continue.
And, right wingers technically do not have a problem with natural selection, because if the Nazis won, and genocided literally everyone else on earth not of german ancestry, that would have just as well been covered by "natural selection" and "evolution" of the human species without any moral or otherwise judgement of those actions.
