I know there's a whole genre of terrible romcom MCs who strut around like RRRG despite not being vampires and having no right to, but it is occasionally nice to see a MC who doesn't just spaghette at the sight of a pretty girl and they can get on to actually telling a story without wasting too much time on those kind of antics
