>too many broken M9 and so cheaper to replace than repair.
Makes sense, so the logical thing to do would be to bulk order new Beretta M9's rather than rush the adoption of an entirely new experimental and unproven system as well as retrain soldiers on an entirely new manual of arms as well.
But MIC being retarded and bad at budgeting because they fall for marketing buzzwords like 'muh Modularity' ain't anything new, same reason you can't trust your grandmother/grandfather in front of the QVC channel with a credit card in hand.
>b-b-b-b-but muh red dot
Just get gud with sights, the average grunt is better off just carrying an extra magazine anyway and if soldiers absolute insist they be allowed to carry their gucci riced out Glock with maybe one or two of the original parts fine, require them to stress test their build and show they can actually hit shit with it.
That or just unalterably give Smith an Wesson a contract, M&P's are fine and often come with an optics cut by default in the higher end models for all the RMR or RMR Holosun knockoffs soldiers might wanna slap on. Speaking of red dots is the Nu-Aimpoint CoA good?
