Even the most "well meaning" liberal has the racism of low expectations for blacks. In his heart of hearts, he doesn't view them as anything better. Therefore wants nothing more. They're just pawns to play around with in his real game with the white Conservative. If the white Conservative he finds is disruptive, then the Liberal will feel the need to embrace it just to screw with the Conservative, even as it hurts those other people.
