Conan does have it fair share of barbarian abhumans that are basically orcs. The advanced civilizations and ruins of even more advanced civilizations are also sort of like elves.

However what Howard did was to take inspiration from things other than Toliken-esque fantasy and have his own clear idea how he wanted to portray things as well as being a very good writer so it doesn't feel stale for us today. You could totally read conan and the stuff that inspired conan (ancient history, myths, western, other pulp adventure/fantasy) and make a setting with the usual fantasy races without too much trouble.
