They do both, but I've seen a greater focus on the human ship. It's pretty easy to avoid it, since スミイサ focuses on Smith the human. Bravern is a different name which belongs to the mecha and has a different tag, ブレイサ.
So unless you're anal about the existence of a ship that usually gets tagged differently and is far less common, you should be able to enjoy it.
