Overpriced food is more prevalent in Malaysia than Thailand. Many restaurants want RM 15 for the most basic meals with hardly any real flavor besides grease, onions and chilli - plus the standard teh or kopi. Whereas last night I paid RM 12 for a much more generous mutton set meal with asam boi limau. Word is that greedy (Chinese) property owners squeeze tenants for rent and force them to jack up prices, even for Third World dining shack setups.
