It's such a tragedy that Douglas ended up he way he did. I hope Nemlei, in some future project of her, tells an story about a married couple family struggle, that ultimately find union and stick together against the danger, or something along those lines. It would bring a full circle to her body of work; from children of troubled backgrounds finding solace trough breaking the cycle as outsiders for personal fulfillment, to the same kind of children carrying the torch over the next generation, being the fathers and mothers they wish they had.
