in the 5th edition range you find elaborate headdresses, cloth textures and furs being integrated, while from 6th onwards it's almost exclusively gold plates with random geometric patterns at best.

when they were just slann they didn't have an armybook of their own, just lists and profiles from white dwarf and from rulebooks, but I've got the models and some artworks and it's clear there's much more attention in making them look like they have a culture with its own clothing and stuff rather than just being animal people with a weapon, like some lizardmen models.
