toilet flush is broken. It's not even that thing where it just takes a long time to fill up, it is legitimately no longer filling up at all and there's no resistance to the flush button when I press it down

can't afford a plumber but I have a plastic bucket I can fill with bath water then use that to manually flush it. Is there any harm in doing this for say, 2-6 months, until I can afford a plumber?
