fair enough, but you could also argue then that High elves should have interacted with Nehakara before the official -2500IC date then, since they had active colonies much closer to Nehekara than they did to Cathay at that point in time but this in-universe timeline still keeps that founding date so it stands to some reason that the -3000IC for Cathay is when Cathay starting trading or interacting with the outside world
The timeline in the Core Rulebook for TOW also uses the -3000IC date as well, but that timeline is also filled with a ton of oddities and errors that either GW forgot about or didn't care about
