True, I mean this is evidenced by dark souls but in general a lot of the most popular jap developed games worldwide tend to have a lot of western influence. I bet you there are some people who don't even know Capcom is a japanese studio.

I think they could definitely make a hit but they absolutely have to nail the loot balance. TN has a reputation for it's loot, with so many people crying about it. They need to stop the pinata's entirely. I think they would have more success with a mix of "souls" style finding loot in the world but I think a crafting system would suit their style better, it can still have effects but no longer entirely RNG. Maybe some kind of gem system to attach to equipment. I know it sounds simple but I legitimately think the biggest hang up normiegroids have is just being overwhelmed by seeing a bunch of stuff pop out of enemies and then going into their equipment menu and seeing dozens to hundreds of items. Just stop doing that and normies will be fine with anything else regarding equipment and RPG systems.
