caffeine is poison
sure, your body responds to being poisoned
by making you piss, making you thirsty, trying to flush it out of you, and it gives you a hit of adrenaline to help you survive... but it's still poison, and your adrenal gland can only produce so much per day.
Caffeine withdrawal sucks, makes it hard for most junkies to kick the habit. Headache for 2 days, aspirin helps. Don't take Excedrin (has caffeine) takes a few weeks for your brain to recover, once you quit.
