You nailed it. We experienced backyards with friends from the neighborhood. Great times. Biking, hitting the mall for arcades, movies, and decent food (before goyslop was a thing). Sleeping over at friends’ houses was common because parents knew each other and trusted anyway. If you were out of cash, just mow the neighbors’ lawns—you’d easily get $20 or more (before inflation went nuts—$20 could buy a ton back then). Older neighbors were the best tippers, lol. It was peak. I pity zoomers and the incoming gens missing this.
