>Is this the worst the games ever been?
I don't really know. People say CoO was bad, but objectively, it wasn't the content's fault, but the meta side of the game at large. I think that the weapons and abilities, and sub-features are the only real things that have been improved over time. The story hasn't meant anything to me since the very start of Beyond light. The enemies have stagnated, and the core system of gameplay loops have been lackluster. No activity means much to me. The art direction has been very hit or miss for most things, Mostly misses.
>Would you rather have year (Insert whatever year you meant here) D2 over this?
I think the best state that D2 was ever in was season of Arrivals. The only downside was that Undying, Dawn, & Worthy weren't in the game, but absolutely everything else up until that point was. And I'd gladly take that over the superfluous stuff that they've put in afterwards.
