I've seen many use unsworn in part because of its busted origin trait, it OP for hard content. Shoot to loot is good for ammo scavenging across the field, and ofc detonator beam.
As for hollow denial, it also has a good origin trait that heals you, it also comes with lead from gold + unrelenting or repulsor brace. It's good for survivability while also having good dps.

Problem is that if you genuinely just subject yourself to the actual skill exercises of speed running, low manning, doing the frame perfect dps, you will be so far gone seeing everything as way too easy and anything done *not* doing those techniques will feel like you’re on baby mode. I did 1 run of pantheon contest with people who had one of the fastest times and the amount of tech and swapping people do to just have their ghost in certain spots, die as they send down a elevator for Atraks and other little shit is ridiculous. There’s just a whole other game and at that point you’re basically so fucked because not hitting it feels almost frustrating. At that point it’s just misery because it’s so far off base than what’s intended. I always figured that concept that rezzed Uldren now Crow was meant to be the next Speaker, perfect twist for a situation when the tower had drama of who’s next for speaker /did we even really ever need one and then up comes some random guy exhibiting similar connection and it’s the guy who killed cayde. The biggest problem is that devs do this shit all at once, and it's after they make concerted efforts towards doing the opposite over a long period of time. If you want an example from another game, look at WoW during Cataclysm after Wrath of the Lich King. Cataclysm heroic dungeons stopped being AFK mass pull mass AoE snoozefests and went back to expecting you to use your suite of abilities and actually punished you for not doing so. The casualized playerbase absolutely hated it and bitched nonstop for it to be changed, even though it was far from the hardest content the game had to offer. People had been conditioned to doing the same thing with Destiny, that it was piss easy outside of MAYBE Raids or Dungeons, so when Bungie just flipped the switch in the other direction all at once it pissed everyone off. There also was never a real, gradual increase in difficulty that slowly made you a better player. I don't really know. People say CoO was bad, but objectively, it wasn't the content's fault, but the meta side of the game at large. I think that the weapons and abilities, and sub-features are the only real things that have been improved over time. The story hasn't meant anything to me since the very start of Beyond light. The enemies have stagnated, and the core system of gameplay loops have been lackluster. No activity means much to me. The art direction has been very hit or miss for most things, Mostly misses.

Been playing since D1 beta, took off plenty of seasons here and there from boredom and burnout. I bought EoF a day ago and am probably half way through the campaign. The state of the game is better than it was in lightfall. I haven't hit the soft cap yet, but getting to 140ish has been pretty fast, i'm sure the grind will suck once i hit 200 or whatever the soft cap is, but the power grind after the soft cap has always been dicks. The destination abilities(morph ball) is more than just that, and isn't as bad as people here claim. I've always enjoyed the open world puzzle solving and exploring though. The new destination guns and perks are either braytech models, or look similar to the pale heart weapons, so not as gay as they have been. The tier system is fine, i haven't hit endgame yet so we'll see if that opinion stays. So far all my old weapons and armor are better than what you can get at tier 1-3. Plot is fine, the missions are much better built than anything in episodes, and feel more like actual Destiny content. I think it offers far more entertainment and value than any year of 'seasons' we've had, and far better than the last year of 'episodes.' Perfect? No. Bungie's redemption arc? Probably not. Worth $40? I'd say so.
