Nobody wants Quickplay back. It’s a tiny minority of reactionary, antisocial weirdos. They’ve been running the gauntlet, whining for the past two weeks because their internet father told them to.
Let me put something into perspective, for that tiny minority. Valve has invested at least 100,000 USD into Casual mode. This is the lower end of software investment. To say they have no incentive to bring back an old, clunky system which they spent tens of thousands replacing is an understatement.
The more likely scenario is that they either update casual again, or add some minor tweaks, which is basically what most of the community actually wants anyway. Of course, Valve being Valve, it’s more likely they do nothing at all, since their revenues aren’t impacted, and the game itself isn’t impacted either.
