This game was basically made to explain away a plot hole in the first 2 games, as to why the Endo 1 while being the older model was in the present that was the first game and why the Endo 2 the newer models were in the past in the second game and to set up the mimic proper as the newest antagonist.
The animatronics in 1 are in SOTM unfinished, they look ugly as sin because Fiona is a terrible artist, they then get repurposed for the 1st game. the Endo 2's are in the past because they are the upgraded models of the Endo 1's that Henry designed that again didn't get used until later, probably because they scrapped the Endo 2's after Afton killed those kids in FNAF 2.
It's a little weird, but everything fits. Edwin made the original Endos in SOTM. Afton screws him over and bankrupts him taking his designs and Endos with him. Later, he meets Henry whom improves the designs of the Endo 1 making the Endo 2's in FNAF2. Afton kills the kids, and the story continues from there. It's absolutely an asspull retcon (because Steel Whool admitted they fucked up understanding Cawthons idea) but the reason burn trap is in security breach is because it's the mimic copying Afton from what it saw of him in help wanted, a game made to try and trick people that the murders weren't real but an urban legend.
