I think that's giving Ian too much credit that he doesn't think Eggman could do it (sounds like some lame tryhard "making Sonic dark and mature" shit) but also, "fighting for the thrill of it" in a manga sense is like when Joe Yabuki & Carlos Rivera go all out so hard Carlos gets brain damage and dies. Not when either party is holding back.
