>make a more open Monster Hunter
>give us nothing to do in said open Monster Hunter
It's like A Team looked at how barebones the quest offerings were in World along with their blatant investigations padding and decided to make it worse by telling shmucks to 'go do your own procedurally generated hunts' and thought that could be a gameplay loop. And it's a wonder I spent more time in Rise, at least they had expeditions for free hunts on top of quests and kept on adding quests EVERY SINGLE UPDATE whenever new monsters were on the menu. That's how you promote longevity, giving players shit to do.
But what kills it for me, and I dislike World/Iceborne for similar reasons, is how Capcom is too lazy to tie weapon and armor unlocks to these biomes. Rise didn't have that problem, shit the game couldn't stop vomiting more opportunities to give you new gear either via side quests or various other resources. How come Wilds ain't got them resources? Why doesn't collecting shit in the desert region unlock desert related weaponry like the Catcus Creamer hammer? How come Speartuna and Jailhammer are the only 'quirky' weapons allowed, but not the fucking plunger?
