I think it's sad that he seemingly really did want to retire from streaming outside of very rare circumstances but the company he started working for basically folded and he ended up without a real job again except now with an expensive Vegas house and a live-in gf to take care of. I guess it turned out that most people don't actually give a fuck about "event' streams and the real money is just in laid-back gameplay with funny quips like has been the case for the last 15 years.
The recent streams are pretty good though.
