I like to use scraps I find. Sometimes the receipt for the book. Recently a book had a card out of somebody's rolodex. Another was a former school library book, last checked out in 1964, and it had a flyer in it for a piano concert at the school (picrel). When I don't have something whimsical or sentimental for a bookmark, I use a blank white bookmark which I bought in a pack at an art supply store.
