very interesting point.
i usually shoot benched, rifle stock/handguard on a rest.
The following I've noticed shooting both my 20" ar15a4 and sks:
for group sizes with the ar15 it doesnt matter where the handguard rests on the support, accuracy/group size is always the same.
contrary, the group sizes of the sks varies strongly, depending on where the stock rests on. only the small area between magazine and bayonet groove gives small groups, every other point of rest results in significantly larger groups.
gonna pay attention to this with my l1a1 next range time
if a semi auto in .505 biggs would make a nice battle rifle?
