Rewatch the immortal android mad scientist episode. Kirk shouts nigger nigger vulcan nigger and this is how the plot was to originally be resolved. It was dropped for some reason but not Kirk shouting nigger in a plantation owner outfit with Spock crying. To anyone with modern sensibilities it's really offensive, like the episode where Kirk is forced to kiss rape Uhura, which is not nearly as dreamy and progressive as people pretend it is, and if the overton window didn't shift, none of the older actors would be extolling it for brownie points.
