I know because I was offered a job in Russia as well before the conflict but I passed up on it
more than likely the people will be used as hostage exchanges after the war and you can expect lots of ransom to be demanded
this is not some casual "bad luck" story, this sort of immigration was organized by Russia before the war and they even had news stories that they built entire US-looking neighborhoods in Russia for people in the US/EU willing to emigrate to Russia
